Epsilon History

  • Sigma Chi is a brotherhood with roots in the collegiate experience that engenders a lifelong commitment to strive to achieve true friendship, equal justice and the fulfillment of learning as part of our overall responsibilities to the broader communities in which we live.

The Epsilon Chapter of Sigma Chi at GW is steeped in tradition. Founded in 1864 we are alive and stronger than ever today! It is our brothers, with diverse interests in extracurricular activities, academics, and cultural identities that make this Fraternity the ideal chapter and brotherhood it is today.

Our brothers are very involved in GW life. With the current SA Vice President, former and current SA Senators and Cabinet members, and Student Court Chief Justice, we carry influence in our student government. Currently we have brothers serving as IFC President, editor in chief of the GW Patriot, Finance Chair of Program Board, President and Chair of the Marvin Center Governing Board, Treasurer of Order of Omega, member of the JEC, and many more influential student organizations and GW offices.

  • Epsilon brothers find themselves with internships in government offices such as the US Senate, the House of Representatives, the White House, the Department of Treasury, the Department of Justice, financial firms such as Deloitte and Goldman Sachs, and many different lobbying and law firms.

Well respected in the Greek community, the Epsilon Chapter received Gold Level in the Greek Excellence Awards. The Epsilon Chapter was named Most Outstanding Chapter in the Eastern Region and was also recognized for its Outstanding Philanthropic work & Risk Management Plan by its International Headquarters.
